ODOT 3/15/22, 4:30 pm: Valley, No. Coast: U.S. 101 remains closed by an active landslide south of Wheeler, at milepost 47. There is no estimate on reopening. The hillside will be reassessed for stability on Wednesday March 16th. Traffic is detoured over Miami-Foley Road but the route is length restricted so longer trucks need to take alternate routes.
From Dan Weber @ODOT – HWY.101, south of Wheeler, WILL REMAIN CLOSED IN THIS AREA likely for several days or longer. “We will evaluate it in the morning. It’s very active and continues to slide.” Thanks to Pioneer photographer/videographer Don Backman… here is some recent video of the slide on Hwy. 101. It is still very active. ODOT has removed over 500 yards of debris (that’s approximately 50 dump truck loads) but the area remains unstable and continues to slide. 3/15/22 @11:30 am

The detour is Miami Foley Road. Please use care and caution while travelling on the detour. More Info Here
