After ten long months, we are thrilled to announce that the Tillamook Air Museum will reopen to the public on Thursday, October 29!
Since December’s storm, an incredible amount of work has taken place behind the scenes, and we are moving quickly to get the Museum ready to once again welcome visitors through the doors of Hangar B.
With historic Hangar B and the Tillamook Air Museum now under the ownership of the nonprofit Vintage Aviation Museum, a new chapter is beginning for the Tillamook Air Museum. Our first priority has been to restore the museum experience our visitors knew before the storm, returning aircraft, exhibits and collections to the museum and preparing Hangar B for reopening. At the same time, we are already looking ahead, with plans to continue improving exhibits, adding more to see and building on what makes the Tillamook Air Museum such a special place.
Work on Hangar B is moving forward as well. We are actively working through the details needed to patch the section of roof damaged in last December’s storm, while continuing to plan for the long-term care of this remarkable historic building.
Reopening is a major milestone, and it is only the beginning. There is still plenty ahead of us, but things are moving quickly, and we are excited about what comes next.
We also want to thank everyone who has supported the museum, volunteered their time and encouraged us along the way. Getting to this point would not have been possible without that support.
Join us at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, as we officially reopen the Tillamook Air Museum. To celebrate our return, the Museum will remain open until 7:00 p.m. that day.
We can’t wait to see you in the hangar again
