From Nehalem Bay Health Center’s social 6/15/26:
An Update on Acupuncture Services
Many of you have reached out with questions and personal stories about what acupuncture care means to you. We heard you, and want to share an update.
Dr. Monte Gores, who provided acupuncture services to our patients for many years, has departed NBHCP. We are grateful for his years of care and wish him well.
His departure prompted a careful review of the program’s long-term sustainability, as we are required to do for every service we offer. After evaluating both the operational data and the community need, our board has decided to continue acupuncture services at NBHCP.
We are finalizing staffing and next steps and will share more details soon. Thank you for your patience and for caring so deeply about this community’s health.
The following was sent to the Board of Directors of The Nehalem Bay Health Clinic after they voted to continue offering acupuncture services at the clinic in their May 28th, 2026 meeting. Since that meeting an offer was extended to a practitioner and she has accepted. Please join me in thanking the board by contacting them via email at boardofdirectors@nehalembayhealth.org or leave a message at 503-268-5182.
Dear Nehalem Bay Health Clinic Leadership and Care Team,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the decision to continue acupuncture care to patients in our community. The dedication, compassion, and expertise of your practitioners have made a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of many individuals, including those seeking alternatives or complements to conventional medical treatments.
Acupuncture has proven to be a valuable resource for pain management, stress reduction, and overall wellness. Your commitment to offering these services demonstrates an understanding of the importance of treating the whole person rather than just symptoms.
As healthcare continues to evolve, I encourage your clinic to consider expanding its holistic treatment options. Integrating additional services such as massage therapy, somatic healing, breath work, nutritional counseling, mindfulness and meditation programs, herbal medicine consultations, wellness coaching, or other evidence-informed complementary therapies could further enhance patient outcomes and provide more comprehensive support for physical, emotional, and mental health.
Many patients are seeking a broader range of integrative care options that address prevention, healing, and long-term wellness. By expanding these services, your clinic would continue to be a leader in patient-centered care while meeting the growing demand for holistic health solutions.
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment to acupuncture and the positive impact your clinic has on the community. I appreciate your consideration of these suggestions and look forward to seeing your continued growth in providing comprehensive, whole-person healthcare.
With gratitude and encouragement,
yves!
