Lodging Owners Called to Discuss Emergency Preparedness April 8th

North Oregon Coast lodging owners have been invited to learn more about emergency preparedness for their guests at a special meeting set for Monday, April 8, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the Nehalem Bay Fire and Rescue District station in Bayside Gardens.
The meeting will feature Janice and Larry Zagata, owners of the beachfront Ocean Inn in Manzanita. The inn drew public attention in Feb. 2019 when it became the first known establishment on the coast to put emergency Go Bags in each of its units.

“We were amazed by the positive response from our guests when they learned we had Go Bags for them in their rooms. It confirmed that providing safety to our business was a good decision,” said Janice Zagata. “In this short informal meeting, we will share what we have learned. We believe it will be of great value.”
The April 8 meeting will include disaster specialists from the State of Oregon and the Emergency Volunteer Corps of Nehalem Bay, plus the Manzanita Visitors Center and Tonquin Trading Company of Seaside, which helped the Ocean Inn stock its Go Bags.
The meeting is free, but attendees are asked to RSVP to janice@oceaninnatmanzanita.com or info@exploremanzanita.com.
