TILLAMOOK COUNTY COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS: Do I have to wear a mask? Breakdown of new OHA guidance

Posted on May 18, 2021 by Editor
After the CDC provided individuals with a choice; vaccinate or wear a mask to protect against COVID-19, Oregon Health Authority released updated interim guidance for businesses, employers and faith institutions that gives indoor establishments a choice: verify vaccination history or require masks of workers and patrons.
If workplaces and institutions choose to relax mask enforcements, they must meet these requirements:
1. Have a policy for checking for proof of vaccination status of individuals;
2. Request proof of vaccination status from each individual;
3. Review each individual’s proof of vaccination prior to entry or admission.
Individuals who are fully vaccinated may choose to provide proof of vaccination if asked or they may decline to provide and continue to follow mask guidance as directed by the workplace or institution.
Workplaces and institutions may not be able to meet the requirements to relax mask enforcements or may choose not to and will need to continue to require mask and distancing of all patrons and workers regardless of vaccination status.

This new guidance provides flexibility to workplaces and individuals while keeping the safety of the community a top priority.
We know it has been a long year and guidance continues to evolve as the pandemic does, please be patient with each other and the businesses we love.
